State Adequate Yearly Progress

Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) is a method for determining if schools, districts and the state have made adequate progress in improving student achievement. AYP is based on participation and performance on state assessments, as well as attendance rates and, for high schools, graduation rates. For the 2008-2009 school year, the state did not make AYP.
